IFIC Bank has achieved the milestone of 1000 uposhakha with the aim of building the country's largest banking network with state-of-the-art banking technology. On 26 November 2022, IFIC Bank made history as the first bank in Bangladesh to establish its 1000th uposhakha by inaugurating a new uposhakha in historic Mujibnagar, Meherpur. Mr. Salman F Rahman, MP, Chairman of IFIC Bank Limited and Advisor to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for Private Sector Industry and Investment was present as the chief guest while Mr. Farhad Hossain, Hon’ble Minister of State for Ministry of Public Administration was present as the special guest in the 1000 uposhakha milestone celebration ceremony organized at Mujibnagar Liberation War Memorial Auditorium. Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate of Meherpur Dr. Mohammad Munsur Alam Khan, Meherpur District Superintendent of Police Md. Rafiul Alam, General Secretary of Meherpur District Awami League & Chairman of Gangni Upazila M. A. Khalek, Managing Director (Acting) Syed Mansur Mustafa, Members of the Board of Directors & Deputy Managing Directors and Senior Officials of IFIC Bank, including local dignitaries and journalists were also present at the event.
Speaking as the chief guest, Salman F. Rahman said, IFIC Bank achieved the milestone of 1000 uposhakha by opening an uposhakha in Mujibnagar, the land where the Provisional Government of Bangladesh was formed, and solemnly took the oath. This effort of the IFIC Bank will continue with the ultimate goal of ensuring inclusive banking.
In his speech as the special guest, State Minister Mr. Farhad Hossain praised the bank's efforts in inaugurating IFIC Bank's uposhakha in historic Mujibnagar and ensuring inclusive banking. He also mentioned that this footstep of the IFIC Bank of Mujibnagar will play an important role in the future to advance the agriculture-based rural economy of Meherpur.
